Contexte:
Au sein de la société marocaine, l'homosexualité est encore un tabou. Cette dernière est jugée comme une déviance sexuelle, Hchouma (Honte) et Haram (Péché).
Bien qu'il soit largement admis que les LGBT (Lesbiennes, Gays, Bisexuels-les et Transgenres) sont les vestiges du colonialisme et de l'impact de la civilisation occidentale, l'homosexualité au Maroc est aussi vieille que l'histoire et fait partie intégrante de la culture marocaine.
La Constitution marocaine stipule que « L'état prend l'engagement, tel que requis par leurs chartes de principes, de droits et devoirs ». Suite à l'adhésion du Maroc à divers organismes, notamment les Nations Unies, le Maroc réaffirme son attachement aux droits de l'homme universellement reconnus.
Mais, malgré cela, l'article 489 du code pénal marocain criminalise « les actes licencieux ou contre nature avec un individu du même sexe ». L'homosexualité est illégale au Maroc, elle peut être punie de 6 mois à 3 ans d'emprisonnement et d'une amende de 120 à 1 200 dirhams (15 à 150$).
Ainsi, la criminalisation du comportement homosexuel entre adultes consentants constitue une violation de la protection des droits de l'homme dans le droit international. Le Pacte international relatif aux droits civils et politiques, que le Maroc a ratifié, interdit l'immixtion dans la vie privée. Le Comité des droits de l'homme des Nations Unies a condamné les lois qui criminalisent les rapports homosexuels consensuels comme des violations du Pacte international relatif aux droits civils et politiques. Le Groupe de travail sur la détention arbitraire des Nations Unies a jugé que les arrestations pour conduite homosexuelle consensuelle est, en principe, une violation des droits de l'homme.
L'une des mesures prise pour protéger la communauté LGBT (Lesbiennes, Gays, Bisexuels-les et Transgenres) au Maroc est la mise en place du groupe Kifkif, créé fin 2004 avec la participation et le soutien d'un certain nombre de Marocains militants qui donnent de leur temps et leur savoir afin d'aider les LGBT à s'intégrer dans la société et affronter les effets de l'oppression et de l'ignorance qui est à l'origine de la séparation avec leur milieu naturel.

Nous sommes un groupe de citoyens marocains, des LGBT (Lesbiennes, Gays, Bisexuels-les et Transgenres). Kifkif nous a unis face à la stigmatisation et la discrimination à cause de notre orientation sexuelle et identité de genre. Nous essayons de faire l'union entre notre identité sexuelle, les fondements de notre civilisation et l'identité du Maroc. Nous travaillons à travers le groupe afin de renforcer l'estime de soi,, de transmettre des informations, et de créer un espace sûr permettant la participation et l'interaction entre citoyens marocains ayant une orientation sexuelle différente.
Objectifs et visions:
Il est bien connu que la question de l'homosexualité n'est pas traitée ouvertement dans notre société, ce qui souligne un large rejet de ce sujet. Avant la création de Kifkif, les Marocains gais et lesbiennes n'ont que rarement protesté contre les croyances traditionnelles ou exprimé publiquement leurs idées sur la question de la sexualité et l'homosexualité. Les membres du groupe, qui a commencé comme un forum à travers le réseau Internet, luttent par divers moyens.Tirons notre force de notre situation ! Nous pensons que la lutte pour notre stabilité et notre bien-être, nos droits, nos valeurs et nos normes est une lutte fondamentale. Notre objectif est de construire un centre de gays au Maroc grâce en fournissant un soutien psicologique, en favorisant l'automonie des personnes, en ayant une influence sociale, et de changer la perception de l'homosexualité, en fournissant un espace sécurisé pour la participation et l'interaction entre les LGBT marocains.

About Kifkif
Context:
Homosexuality is still a taboo subject in Moroccan society. It is considered as sexual deviance, H’shooma (shameful) and Haram (sinful).
It is also largely perceived that LBGT community members are agents of colonialism and advocates of Western culture when in reality the existence of homosexuality in society is deeply steeped in the history of our society.
Morocco adheres firmly to the universally recognized charter of human rights. The constitution stipulates that “The state takes responsibility as required by the principles, rights and obligations of the charter”.
However, article 489 of the Moroccan penal code criminalises “licentious and non-natural acts between members of the same sex”. Homosexuality is illegal in Morocco and can be punishable with 6 months to 3 years in Prison and a fine of 120 to 1200 Dirhams. (15 to 150$).
The criminalisation of homosexual behaviour between two consenting adults constitutes a violation of the protection of human rights in the eyes of international law. The international act regarding civil and political rights, that Morocco ratified, prohibits the interference in the private life of individuals.
The UN Human Rights Committee has condemned the laws that criminalise consented homosexual acts a breach of international agreements regarding civil and political rights.
The UN working group on Arbitrary Detentions (OHCHR) has regarded that arrests for engaging in homosexual acts between consenting adults are a total violation of Human Rights.
Our group KifKif was created to cater for the growing needs of the members of the LGBT community in Morocco and to protect their rights. We started in 2004 with the participation and support of a number of Moroccan activists who give their time and knowledge to help the LGBT people to integrate in society and overcome the effects of oppression and ignorance that led to their marginalisation.
About us:
We are a group of Moroccan citizens. KifKif has united us against the stigmatisation and discrimination we face in our society due to our sexual orientation and gender identity. We try to reconcile our sexual identity with the values of our civilisation and the cultural identity of our country.
We work through the group to help and boost self-esteem, inform and create a safe environment allowing the participation and interaction between Moroccan citizens who happen to have a different sexuality.
Visions and Objectives:
It is well known that the subject of homosexuality is not treated openly in our society which indicates a large and strong rejection of the subject. Before the creation of our group, Moroccan members of the LGBT community have rarely protested against the traditional beliefs or publicly expressed their ideas on the subjects of sexuality and homosexuality.
Members of our group, which started as an online forum, campaign through different means.
We believe that the struggle of our stability, welfare, rights and values is a fundamental one. Our goal is to build a centre for Moroccan LGBTs in order to provide psychological and emotional support with a strategy that favourites their self-reliance. We also aim to have a social influence that seeks to change to perceptions of homosexuality by providing a safe space for active participation and interaction between LGBT members of society.
